He was preceded by Audley Shaw & by extension Dwight Nelson and Don Wehby from the opposing Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) [2007 - 2012]. He received his doctorate in Economics from Northwestern University. His service in academia includes work at Stanford University (1973 - 1976) and the University of the West Indies. He is the current Member of Parliament for South St. Andrew; an infamous PNP garrison constituency. External links
