Life and careerDe Lisle was born in Exeter, Ontario, Canada. He has been with the band for their whole career thus far. Aside from Smash Mouth, De Lisle is also an avid surfer, which may be an influence on surf sounds in Smash Mouth's music. He is also the writer of the band's single "Pacific Coast Party" and is credited with many others. De Lisle was also deputized as temporary vocalist after Harwell was taken ill mid-show at a concert in Urbana, Illinois on August 27, 2016.
