The band's senior Pipe Major is John Cairns; the senior lead drummer is Harvey Dawson. The band has been a frequent competitor at the World Championships in Scotland the past decade,[3] finishing 10th in 1999, 14th in 2002 and 13th in 2012. In 2010, the band won the Grade 1 North American Championship in Maxville Ontario, and successfully defended the title in 2011,2012 and again in 2013. The band also won the Piper's and Pipe Band Society Grade 1 Champion Supreme in these same years. In 2002, the band accompanied Paul McCartney during his song Mull of Kintyre at a concert at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.[4][5] In 2009 the band participated in the Kincardine Scottish Festival,[6]"Pipes and Drums results". Kincardine News, July 7, 2009 and in 2012 they took first place in the Grade One competition at the Kingston Scottish Festival.[7] Before the 2018 season began, the grade 1 band was down-graded to the grade 2 level by the RSPBA, after competing at the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow in the summer of 2017. Rather than fight the downgrade, the band embraced it and added a grade 5 band to compete. With pipe major Jamie Connolly and lead drummer Andrew Stevenson at the helm, the upstart grade 5 band, assembled with former members of the Hamilton Police, Milton and Dundas pipe bands, finished in second place in Ontario, despite not appearing at only one event. The grade 4 pipe band is under the leadership of Pipe Major Garry Hall and Lead Drummer Todd Diminie. The new grade 2 band were Ontario champions and placed sixth at the World's in the 2018 season. For the 2019 season, the band planned fielding three competition bands in grades 2, 4, and 5. That plan was abandoned and the grade 5 band has been since disbanded.
