It is the mandal headquarters of Pileru mandal.[1] It passes through a river and hence it got the name Pileru. TransportPileru is located on the junction point of National Highway 40 (India) , halfway between Rayachoty and Chittoor and National Highway 71 (India), halfway between Tirupati and Madanapalle. Pileru railway station is situated on Dharmavarm - Pakala Branch line. Daily train services are available to Tirupati, Guntakal and Hyderabad. See also
