Owned by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, these sites are managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.[4]HistoryPilgrim Memorial State Park was created in 1920 to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Pilgrim landing. Landfill was brought in and the shoreline changed, creating arms of land around Plymouth Rock. The portico designed by McKim, Mead and White was completed and other memorials donated and dedicated.[6] References1. ^1 {{cite gnis|615298|Plymouth Rock}} 2. ^1 2 {{cite web |url=http://www.mass.gov/eea/agencies/dcr/massparks/region-south/pilgrim-memorial-state-park.html |title=Pilgrim Memorial State Park |work=MassParks |publisher=Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs |accessdate=December 22, 2014}} 3. ^1 {{cite web |url=http://tclf.org/landscapes/pilgrim-memorial-state-park |title=Pilgrim Memorial State Park |publisher=The Cultural Landscape Foundation |accessdate=February 20, 2017}}
