At the same time, Pristimantis achuar was identified as synonym of Pristimantis luscombei.[6]]DescriptionAdult males measure {{convert|18|-|20|mm|abbr=on}} and females {{convert|23|-|26|mm|abbr=on}} in snout–vent length. There is a W-shaped, usually black dermal ridge in the scapular region. The dorsum is light to medium brown whereas the venter is immaculate yellowish white. The iris is bronze with black reticulation and with a reddish median stripe. Dorsal skin is smooth to finely shagreen. Pristimantis luscombei resembles Pristimantis kichwarum, but lacks the dark canthal stripe of the latter and has a blunter snout.[6] Habitat and conservationIts natural habitat is tropical moist lowland forests,[1] mostly at elevations of {{convert|100|–|800|m|abbr=on}} but one record from {{convert|1212|m|abbr=on}} above sea level.[6] These nocturnal frogs are typically found on the leaves of herbaceous plants and bushes {{convert|0.1|-|1|m|abbr=on}} above the ground.[1][ It is probably locally threatened by habitat loss.[1]] References1. ^1 2 3 {{cite journal | author = Rodríguez, L. | author2 = Martinez, J.L. | author3 = Monteza, J.I. | author4 = Angulo, A. | title = Pristimantis luscombei | journal = IUCN Red List of Threatened Species | volume= 2004 | page = e.T56731A11527179 | year = 2004 | doi = 10.2305/IUCN.UK.2004.RLTS.T56731A11527179.en }} 2. ^1 2 3 {{cite web |url=http://research.amnh.org/vz/herpetology/amphibia/Amphibia/Anura/Brachycephaloidea/Craugastoridae/Ceuthomantinae/Pristimantis/Pristimantis-luscombei |title=Pristimantis luscombei (Duellman and Mendelson, 1995) |author=Frost, Darrel R. |year=2017 |work=Amphibian Species of the World: an Online Reference.
