Reenat Fauzia is a sitarist from Bangladesh.

Early life and family

Reenat Fauzia was born in 1967. She is the daughter of Mobarak Hossain Khan, a former Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (National Academy of Fine and Performing Arts) and the Chairman of the Trustee Board of Nazrul Institute,[1] and Fauzia Khan, a vocal artiste in Bangladesh. She is the granddaughter of Ustaad Ayet Ali Khan.[2]

Training

Reenat started her training in music lessons from her cousin Ustaad Shahadat Hossain Khan, {{Citation needed|date=March 2013}} a sarode player of Bangladesh. Later, she received her Guru-Shishya-Parampara music training from her cousin Ustaad Khurshid Khan, {{Citation needed|date=March 2013}} a sitar preceptor. She completed a five-year certificate course on sitar from Chhayanaut, a music institute of Bangladesh. Later she joined the faculty of the same institute as a teacher. After taking lessons on sitar for twelve years, she joined participating in programs of Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar (Radio Bangladesh). {{Citation needed|date=March 2013}} She also makes appearances on stage for performing solo recital on sitar [3] November 24, 2013[4]

During her visit to the US, UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Philippines, and Hong Kong,[5][6][7][8] she performed recitals on Sitar.[9][10][11][12]

Awards

Reenat Fauzia received 'Ananya Shirsho Dosh' award (অনন্যা শীর্ষ দশ) in 2009.[13]

In the first one, music was composed and directed by her uncle Sheikh Sadi Khan, while in the second one there are also recitals of her mentor Ustad Khurshid Khan, and her grandfather Ustad Ayet Ali Khan.{{Citation needed|date=March 2013}}

Haramanik, with Mridulkanti Chakrobarty, was published by Laser Vision.[15]
