It is found in China, possibly Myanmar, and possibly Vietnam. Its natural habitats are temperate forests, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, subtropical or tropical moist shrubland, rivers, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marshes, ponds, and irrigated land.
