In 1999, Richard Palmer founded an award-winning innovation consultancy after studying at the Royal College of Art, working with clients such as Herman Miller and Levi's.[1] Palmer's office/studio design won the Times & Gestetner Digital Office Award, competing against entrants such as Ted Baker and Sainsbury's. During this time, Palmer invented a new protective garment material since branded as D3O.[2] The company received government funding to develop military hardware and has since won the o2 and Arena Magazine Entrepreneur of the Year award.[3][1] Palmer has had multiple television appearances discussing the product, to include BBC News,[4] CNBC,[5] and Nippon.[6] The product has also been reported in many newspapers and magazines, such as The Guardian, The Daily Mail[7]{{unreliable source?|sure=y|date=February 2019|reason=DAILYMAIL}} and The Telegraph.
