Ricky Womack (May 7, 1961 in Detroit, Michigan – January 19, 2002) was a professional boxer from the United States. Amateur highlightsWomack had an outstanding amateur career, and beat future legend Evander Holyfield twice. Selected bouts : 1982
Professional careerWomack turned pro in 1984 and began his career with a promising string of victories, including a victory over future champion Uriah Grant, and was undefeated in his first nine bouts until troubles outside of the ring derailed his career. Troubles outside the ringWomack was sentenced to 12–25 years for armed robbery . After serving 15 years, Womack was released in November 2000 . ComebackAfter his release, Womack returned to the ring in 2001 and won all four bouts.
