Robert Clyde Elgie (born 23 April 1965) is a professor at Dublin City University (DCU). His work mainly relates to the study of semi-presidential systems. Professor Elgie is currently head of the Law School at DCU. He received his Phd. from the London School of Economics in 1992 with a thesis on "The influence of the French Prime Minister in the policy making process 1981-1991."
