Rongé Island is located at {{Coord|64|43|S|62|41|W|}}. Rongé Island was discovered by the Belgian Antarctic Expedition (1897–1899) under Adrien de Gerlache who named it for Madame de Rongé (cousin of Johannes Ronge), a contributor to the expedition. GeographySherlac Point ({{Coord|64|44|S|62|40|W|source:GNIS}}) is a point at the southeast end of the island first charted and named "Cap Charles" by the Belgian Antarctic Expedition under Gerlache, 1897-99. To avoid confusion with Charles Point in Hughes Bay, an anagram of the name was adopted by the United Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) in 1960.[1] See also
