As of the 2010 census, its population was 2,049 and it contained 973 housing units.[1] HistorySalamonie Township was organized in 1835.[2] It was named from the Salamonie River.[3] GeographyAccording to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of {{convert|36.49|sqmi}}, of which {{convert|36.3|sqmi}} (or 99.48%) is land and {{convert|0.19|sqmi}} (or 0.52%) is water.[1] The stream of Weasel Creek runs through this township.
