The hospital operates a 24/7 emergency room[1][3] HistorySanta Paula Memorial Hospital was founded in 1961, built entirely with community donations.[4] Closure and Re-openingOn December 26, 2003, after years of financial trouble, Santa Paula Memorial Hospital filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy and was forced to close. The County of Ventura purchased the hospital in September 2005 for $2.75 million.
