Like Todos Santos it is almost directly on top of the Tropic of Cancer. It is also home of the only zoo in Baja California Sur. The Misión Santiago de Los Coras in Aiñiní was founded in 1724 by the Jesuit missionary, Ignacio Maria Napoli,[3] and closed in 1795; the subsequent Church of Santiago Apostol was built nearby.[4] References1. ^ 2. ^{{cite book|last=Crosby|first=Harry|title=Antigua California: Mission and Colony on the Peninsular Frontier, 1697-1768|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=ewfAudJ_PX8C&pg=PA107|year=1994|publisher=UNM Press|isbn=978-0-8263-1495-6|pages=107–}} 3. ^{{cite book|title=A Gift of Angels: The Art of Mission San Xavier Del Bac|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=O0KoQ_RsV0wC&pg=PA145|year=2010|publisher=University of Arizona Press|isbn=978-0-8165-2840-0|pages=145–}} 4. ^{{cite book|last=Palmerlee|first=Danny|title=Baja California and Los Cabos|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=4NG90449BMEC&pg=PA202|year=2007|publisher=Lonely Planet|isbn=978-1-74104-564-2|pages=202–}}
