}}The Satellite Awards are annual awards given by the International Press Academy that are commonly noted in entertainment industry journals and blogs.[1][2] The awards were originally known as the Golden Satellite Awards. The award ceremonies take place each year at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles.[3] In 2011, Satellite nominations in the motion picture categories were pared from 22 to 19 classifications; the change reflects the merger of Drama and Comedy/Musical under a general Best Picture heading, including the Best Actor, Best Actress, Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress headings.[4] CategoriesFilm- Best Actor (includes previous drama, musical, and comedy awards)
