Saul Junction

The village is the junction of the Stroudwater Navigation and the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal.{{sfnp|Conway-Jones|2013|pages=42–47}}

A pillbox that was part of the British anti-invasion preparations of the Second World War can still be found on the banks of the canal.

Notable residents

William John Westwood (1925–1999), the 36th Anglican Bishop of Peterborough, was born in Saul.
