Scriblist.com was an internet-based collaborative writing project which was established in January 2007. The aim of the project is to create a book (or several books) containing five short stories, each consisting of six chapters. Since each chapter can potentially be written by a different person, the book (or books) will be written by up to thirty different authors. Scriblist was set up by a group of teachers based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England, to give aspiring writers - particularly younger writers - the chance to become published authors. Other than publishing the completed collaborative writing projects, one of the main aims of Scriblist is to bring together young writers, and for them to critique and thereby improve one another's writing, competitional and non-competitional, in a mutually supportive environment. The first book was finished in June 2007.The five stories are different in style and subject. The collection addresses classic themes of love and death, friendship and family, social injustice and domestic violence, but also talks to modern subjects such as autism, adoption and the impact of today’s carbon footprint on the future. The book title refers to the five different stories and the amateur nature of the authors at the start of the project, "Five Green Bananas". ({{ISBN|978-0-9558725-0-1}}). Unfortunately the project has now closed down and is no longer accessible. Story selection
WikiscribAnother of the website's features is the wikiscrib. This is a wiki-based story which any member can edit or add to. As with any wiki-based project, the aim is that members can edit and improve each other's work, so that the quality of writing is as high as it possibly can be. References
