Population: {{ru-census|p2010=23,884|p2002=23,473|p1989=22,704}} HistoryThe stanitsa of Semikarakorskaya ({{lang|ru|Семикаракорская}}), which was founded by the Don Cossacks, was known since 1672.{{citation needed|date=September 2012}} The stanitsa changed its location frequently due to Don's flooding and finally was moved to its present location in 1845.
