It is a species in the family Limnodynastidae. Its natural habitats are temperate scrub, subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, Mediterranean-type shrubby vegetation, subtropical or tropical dry lowland grassland, intermittent freshwater marshes, hot deserts, and temperate desert.
