The {{convert|1.1|km2|adj=on}} island is located {{convert|2|km}} northeast of the large island of Vågsøy in the Sildagapet bay and about {{convert|2.5|km}} west of the island of Barmøya. Silda sits about {{convert|2|km}} east of the small village of Langenes and about {{convert|3|km}} northeast of Raudeberg, both on the island of Vågsøy. This island is the site of the 1810 Battle of Silda.
