Sir Walter Wagstaffe Bagot, 5th Baronet (3 August 1702 – 20 January 1768) was an English politician. The 5th Baronet in the Baronetcy of Blithfield in the Baronetage of England, he succeeded his father Sir Edward Bagot in 1712. LifeBagot was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford, and was granted a DCL degree in 1737.[1] He served as a Member of Parliament for Newcastle under Lyme 1724–1727, for Staffordshire 1727–1754 and for Oxford University 1762–1768.[2] The family seat was at Blithfield Hall, Staffordshire.[2] FamilyBagot married Barbara Legge, daughter of William Legge, 1st Earl of Dartmouth in 1724: they had eight sons and eight daughters.[2] Their children included:
