The island is located {{convert|18|km|0|abbr=on}} southeast of the larger island of Alonnisos (to which it belongs administratively) and {{convert|31|km|0|abbr=on}} northwest of the island Skyros. {{As of|2011}}, it had no resident population.[1] Skantzoura is in Zone B of the Alonnisos Marine Park.
