It was released as the lead single from their second studio album, Antics (2004), on August 16, 2004 as a digital single and September 13 as vinyl and CD singles.[1] The song was written by Carlos Dengler, Daniel Kessler, Paul Banks, and Sam Fogarino. It was released on September 13, 2004 as the lead single from that album, charting at #36 on the UK Singles Chart and #15 on Billboard magazine's Modern Rock Tracks chart (see 2005 in music). The world premiere broadcast of the song on radio was by Los Angeles, California station KROQ-FM. In Australia, the song was ranked #74 on Triple J's Hottest 100 of 2004. In June 2005, the song was re-issued as the final single from Antics, charting at #44 on the UK Singles Chart. Music videoThe music video for "Slow Hands" was directed by Daniel Levi.[2][3] In popular cultureThe song was featured in the video game New York City, Gilmore Girls episode 4 season 5, and the second episode of the second season of Entourage, titled My Maserati Does 185. It was also featured in a 2008 Emporio Armani Diamonds For Men commercial starring Josh Hartnett.[4] This song is also present in the video games, Warriors of Rock and Rocksmith. Azealia Banks covered the song and released it on YouTube in 2010.
