It is sometimes known by the name snowy-breasted hummingbird. It is found in Costa Rica, Panama and far north-western Colombia. DescriptionA small hummingbird, the snowy-bellied measures just {{convert|10|cm|in|abbr=on}}. Head and upper chest are metallic green. Lower chest and belly are pure white. Back and rump are metallic copper. The tail is generally coppery in the eastern population and blue-black in the western population. HabitatIts natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, subtropical or tropical moist montane forest, and heavily degraded former forest.
