{{Refimprove|date=March 2012}}The Solicitor General of Ontario was in charge of the Ministry of the Solicitor General of Ontario, which was responsible for police and other law enforcement agencies in the province. In 2002 the ministry was merged with the Ministry of Correctional Services to become the Ministry of Public Safety and Security which, in 2003, was renamed the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services. The ministry delivers and administers a wide range of law enforcement services including: - Ontario Provincial Police
- provincial corrections facilities
- Special Investigations Unit - an agency to probe incidents between police and the public
- Enforcing the Police Services Act of Ontario
