Population: {{ru-census|p2010=27,757|p2002=29,587|p1989=30,439}} HistoryThe settlement was first established in 1939 as a railway station. It was known as Izhma ({{lang|ru|Ижма}}) until 1957.{{citation needed|date=May 2010}} During the Soviet era, a corrective labor camp was located here.
