The album was subtitled "Luis Miguel '87: Soy Como Quiero Ser" and was the first of many collaborations with longtime producer Juan Carlos Calderón. The singers Laura Branigan and Rocío Banquells appear on two of the album's tracks. The majority of the songs included are covers from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. In 1988, the album it received a nomination for a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album in the 30th Annual Grammy Awards, losing to Un Hombre Solo by Julio Iglesias.[2] Track listing
Portuguese versionA Portuguese version was released in 1988 and is referred to as Luis Miguel '88 instead of '87. It was only released as a vinyl LP. Side A
