| taxon=Sparbambus gombakensis | authority=Zhang, Woon & Li, 2006[1] }}Sparbambus gombakensis is a species of jumping spider that has to date only been found in Malaysia. {{As of|2017}}, it contains only one species, Sparbambus gombakensis.[1] It is similar to the related genus Wanlessia.[2] DescriptionFemales have a total body length of about 6.6 mm, males are slightly smaller. Although the species has only been found in bamboo, it is thought that this is not its proper habitat, as repeated searches failed to find new specimens. It seems to share the same microhabitat with Paracyrba wanlessi, which preys on aquatic animals in the hollow interior of decaying bamboo internodes, for example of Gigantochloa scortechinii.[2] NameThe genus name is derived from Indian bambu, referring to the habitat of the species. The prefix spar denotes that the genus is in the subfamily Spartaeinae. The species name refers to the type locality, the Ulu Gombak Field Studies Centre of the University of Malaya.[2] Footnotes1. ^1 {{cite web|title=Salticidae| website=World Spider Catalog| publisher=Natural History Museum Bern| accessdate=2017-04-20| url=http://www.wsc.nmbe.ch/genus/2975}} 2. ^1 2 Zhang 2006 References
