It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 30,000 people and opened in 2000.[2] It was designed by Chinese architect Yang Zhou. The stadium was the main host of the 2007 African U-17 Championship, in March 2007. HistoryIn 2004, the stadium saw an incident following a match between Togo and Mali in the 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
