Stevan Faddy (Стеван Фeди; born 2 September 1986 in Kotor) is a Montenegrin singer. He took part in Montevizija 2006, singing "Cipele". He also participated in Sunčane Skale 2003 singing "Poslednja obala". On 25 February 2007, he won a landslide victory in MontenegroSong 2007 with his song "Ajde Kroči" and won a ticket to represent Montenegro in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007[1] held in Helsinki, Finland. Stevan was the first singer representing Montenegro after its independence. He is currently living in Croatia.

Ancestry

Stevan Faddy claims to have Scottish origin, that he is descended from William Faddy, who came to Montenegro, at that time known as Zeta, during the Crusades with King Richard I of England and decided to stay after falling in love with a local girl.[2]

Music career

By winning at the music competition “Intro Karaoke” in 2003, he earned the right to participate at the music festival “Sunčane Skale” in Herceg Novi where he finished at the high second place with the song “Posljednja obala”. The same year he received music award “Montefon” as the “breakthrough of the year”.

He already participated two times at the national competition for the Eurovision Song Contest. First time in 2005, when he finished at the second place in Montevizija 2005 and at the fourth place in Europjesma with the song "Utjeha", and the second time in 2006, when his song "Cipele" won Montevizija 2006 and finished third at Evropesma.

At the Eurovision Song Contest 2007, he sang "Ajde, Kroči", composed by Slaven Knezović and written by Milan Perić. It failed to reach the final.
