This school was a feeder school which means that other elementary schools from all over Ottawa come to this school when finished the 6th grade. HistorySt. Patrick's Intermediate started as a High School. The campus was built in the 1960s and won for its architecture. There were actually two schools on that campus: St. Patrick's High School (which used to be an all boys school) and Notre Dame High School (which used to be an all girls school).When the students reached the 11th grade, the classes were merged. There were many buildings on the campus which were linked by tunnels, in case of inclement weather. The buildings included: two cafeterias, two gyms, a church, and a theatre. There were also two seven story buildings, one for boarders and one for the nuns. By the mid 1970s the two schools could not afford to run anymore so they sold the entire campus to the Government of Canada. St. Patrick's High bought another school down the road not too long after that and Notre Dame High was constructed into a separate, yet similar school in Ottawa. A long time passed and the OCSB decided to buy half of the campus back to make St. Patrick's Intermediate, as the other half will remain property of the Government of Canada. The students and staff of St. Patrick's Intermediate sometimes used the government theatre for drama presentations and the government gym on special occasions. St. Patrick's Intermediate also has uniforms, which most schools do not have. Although, in June 2018, St. Patrick's intermediate was officially closed down and will be reunited with St. Patrick's highschool. References
