It was opened in 1854.[1] It was the junction station where the Dudley Branch of the line diverged from the main line. The Dudley branch closed in 1964 as part of the Beeching Axe, but Swan Village remained open until 1972 and the closure of the main line.[1] A level crossing was situated at one end of the station, and Black Lake tram stop on the Midland Metro route is situated on the other side of this crossing. {{Disused Rail Start}}{{Rail line two to one|previous1=Wednesbury Central|next=West Bromwich|previous2=Great Bridge South|route1=Great Western RailwayBirmingham-Wolverhampton (1854–1972) |route2=Great Western Railway Birmingham-Wolverhampton Dudley Branch (1854–1964)|col={{GWR colour}}}}{{rail end}} References1. ^1 2 3 {{cite web|url=http://www.railaroundbirmingham.co.uk/Stations/swan_village.php|title=Swan Village Station|work=Rail Around Birmingham and the West Midlands|accessdate=31 March 2017}} {{West Midlands railway stations|disused}}{{WestMidlands-struct-stub}}{{WestMidlands-railstation-stub}} 4 : Disused railway stations in Sandwell|Railway stations opened in 1854|Railway stations closed in 1972|Former Great Western Railway stations |
