The name Talegalla is a combination of taleve, the French word for swamphen, and gallus, the Latin word for "cock". Lesson wrote that he created the word to hint at the unusual appearance of the red-billed brushturkey, which somewhat resembles a swamphen but is the size of a chicken.[2] References1. ^1 {{cite book | title = The Helm Dictionary of Scientific Names | first = James A. | last = Jobling | year = 2010 | location = London, UK | publisher = Christopher Helm | isbn = 978-1-4081-2501-4 | page = 378 }} [1]}}{{Taxonbar|from=Q1088357}}{{Galliformes-stub}} 3 : Bird genera|Talegalla|Taxonomy articles created by Polbot |
