Tamworth is a small community in Stone Mills township in Lennox and Addington County, Ontario, Canada. Tamworth is located due North of Napanee, Ontario, and Northeast of Belleville, Ontario, near Kingston, Ontario, and is on Beaver Lake. SportsTamworth briefly had a Tier II Junior "A" team known as the Tamworth Cyclones. The team was a member of the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League. HistoryCalvin Wheeler built several mills here in the 1840s and it was originally known as Wheeler's Mills. In 1848, a post office opened under the current name, which comes from Tamworth, Staffordshire. Wheeler was an admirer of Sir Robert Peel, member of Parliament for Tamworth.[1] On February 26th 2014, local trapper Morton Lewis went on a shooting rampage killing one Tamworth resident and injuring another. Morton Lewis was later found dead in his truck.
