Her mother, Margaret, was a single mother.[2] Although Seymour did not have a relationship with her father, she has said her father was West Indian and her mother is white.[3] Seymour began modelling at age 12.[4] CareerEarly in her career Seymour was a commercial model.[1] Later she appeared in music videos for George Michael and Soul II Soul.[2] She also became a hostess on the ITV game show Wheel of Fortune, alongside John Leslie, then Paul Hendy. Her first episode aired 9 January 2001.[2][4] After Wheel of Fortune ended, Seymour moved to the United States where she continued working as a host and model.[2] Seymour joined the American entertainment news program Extra in 2004.[4] She still made some appearances on British television, working as a reporter on ITV2's The Xtra Factor and This Morning.[1] Seymour began to appear more frequently on Extra, where she started as a freelance reporter covering American Idol for the programme before joining as correspondent.[5] Personal lifeWhile modelling in her early twenties, Seymour experienced joint pain which was diagnosed as systemic lupus.[6] The lupus caused peritonitis requiring surgery and medication.[6] Seymour's lupus eventually went into remission although she did undergo additional tests and monitoring during her pregnancy in 2015.[6] Seymour dated Simon Cowell from 2002 to 2008.[7] During their relationship the pair lived in London and Los Angeles, though Seymour spent more time in Los Angeles for her work.[8][9] She and Cowell remained friends after their split.[10][11] On 9 March 2016, Seymour and boyfriend Clark Mallon's daughter, Coco, was born.[10] References1. ^1 2 {{Cite web|url=http://www.tmz.com/person/terri-seymour/|title=Terri Seymour {{!}} TMZ.com|website=TMZ|access-date=24 September 2016}} 2. ^1 2 3 {{Cite book|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=UXj0APavu20C&pg=PT93&lpg=PT93&dq=itv2+terri+seymour&source=bl&ots=ltg__R9BL_&sig=3J35_2M3fe58jzcIv4XgpaoEJWY&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwicmL_7_6bPAhWMOj4KHShpBzEQ6AEIWDAJ#v=onepage&q=terri%2520seymour&f=false|title=Simon Cowell – The Man Who Changed the World|last=Nolan|first=David|date=1 September 2010|publisher=John Blake Publishing Ltd|isbn=9781857828351|language=en}} 3. ^{{Cite web|url=http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1307028/Terri-Seymour-You-love-hate-gravelly-voice-legacy-lupus-nearly-killed-me.html|title=Terri Seymour: You either love or hate my gravelly voice, but it's the legacy of the lupus that nearly killed me|last=McGrath|first=Nick|date=28 August 2010|website=|access-date=24 September 2016}} 4. ^{{Cite web|url=http://www.prnewswire.co.uk/news-releases/terri-seymour-is-the-new-girl-behind-the-wheel-of-fortune-156179105.html|title=Terri Seymour is the new girl behind the Wheel of Fortune /PR Newswire UK/|last=Television|first=Scottish|publisher=prnewswire.co.uk|access-date=24 September 2016}} 5. ^1 2 {{Cite web|url=http://extratv.com/page/about/terri-seymour/|title=Terri Seymour|publisher=Extra.com|access-date=23 September 2016}} 6. ^1 2 {{Cite web|url=http://www.lifescript.com/health/centers/lupus/articles/lupus_and_pregnancy_a_miracle_baby.aspx|title=Lupus and Pregnancy: A ‘Miracle Baby’|last=Burtt|first=Kristyn|date=19 February 2015|website=|publisher=Lifescript|access-date=24 September 2016}} 7. ^{{Cite web|url=http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20237404,00.html|title=Simon Cowell Splits with Girlfriend|last=Norman|first=Pete|last2=Rubin|first2=Courney|date=1 November 2008|website=People|access-date=23 September 2016}} 8. ^{{Cite web|url=https://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/profiles/simon-cowell-you-ask-the-questions-82055.html|title=Simon Cowell: You ask the Questions|date=11 December 2003|access-date=24 September 2016}} 9. ^{{Cite news|url=https://www.theguardian.com/music/2007/dec/09/popandrock.realitytv|title=Simply Simon|last=Barber|first=Lynn|date=9 December 2007|newspaper=The Guardian|issn=0261-3077|access-date=24 September 2016}} 10. ^1 {{Cite web|url=http://us.hellomagazine.com/healthandbeauty/mother-and-baby/2015042024695/terri-seymour-introduces-baby-coco-exclusive/|title=Terri Seymour introduces her daughter Coco, exclusively in HELLO!|date=20 April 2015|work=Hello|access-date=23 September 2016}} 11. ^{{Cite web|url=http://metro.co.uk/2008/11/18/simon-cowell-best-friends-with-ex-153924/|title=Simon Cowell 'best friends' with ex|last=metrowebukmetro|date=18 November 2008|website=Metro|access-date=24 September 2016}} External links
