It was released in 2005 by record label Castle. ContentThe Complete Peel Sessions comprises each of the twenty-four sessions the group recorded for John Peel's radio show. Peel was an avid supporter of the group from early in their career, and The Fall recorded more sessions for Peel's programmes than any other artist. The set was in the process of being compiled when Peel died in October 2004. The set charts almost all of the group's musical phases up until 2004. ReceptionIt was met with some of the most positive reviews of their career. The set prompted Mojo magazine to present Mark E. Smith, the group's sole constant, with their "Catalogue Release of the Year" award (besting releases from The Clash, Jeff Buckley, The Mamas & the Papas, The Kinks and Jack Nitzsche).[4] Track listing and personnelSome tracks appear under different titles to their single/album incarnations. Although most differences are slight, the tracks are listed by the titles they were given at the relevant session. {{col-begin}}{{col-2}}Disc one{{track listing| headline = Session 1, 30 May 1978 | title1 = Futures and Pasts | title2 = Mother-Sister! | title3 = Rebellious Jukebox | title4 = Industrial Estate }}{{track listing | headline = Session 2, 27 November 1978 | title5 = Put Away | title6 = Mess of My | title7 = No Xmas for John Quays | title8 = Like to Blow }}{{track listing | headline = Session 3, 16 September 1980 | title9 = Container Drivers | title10 = Jawbone and the Air-Rifle | title11 = New Puritan | title12 = New Face in Hell }}{{track listing | headline = Session 4, 24 March 1981 | title13 = Middlemass | title14 = Lie Dream of a Casino Soul | title15 = Hip Priest | title16 = C'n'C – Hassle Schmuck }} Disc two{{track listing| headline = Session 5, 26 August 1981 | title1 = Deer Park | title2 = Look, Know | title3 = Winter | title4 = Who Makes the Nazis? }}{{track listing | headline = Session 6, 21 March 1983 | title5 = Smile | title6 = Garden | title7 = Hexen Definitive – Strife Knot | title8 = Eat Y'Self Fitter }}{{track listing | headline = Session 7, 12 December 1983 | title9 = Pat Trip Dispenser | title10 = 2 × 4 | title11 = Words of Expectation | title12 = C.R.E.E.P. }} Disc three{{track listing| headline = Session 8, 14 May 1985 | title1 = Cruiser's Creek | title2 = Couldn't Get Ahead | title3 = Spoilt Victorian Child | title4 = Gut of the Quantifier }}{{track listing | headline = Session 9, 29 September 1985 | title5 = L.A. | title6 = The Man Whose Head Expanded | title7 = What You Need | title8 = Faust Banana }}{{track listing | headline = Session 10, 29 June 1986 | title9 = Hot Aftershave Bop | title10 = R.O.D. | title11 = Gross Chapel – GB Grenadiers | title12 = US 80's-90's }}{{track listing | headline = Session 11, 28 April 1987 | title13 = Athlete Cured | title14 = Australians in Europe | title15 = Twister | title16 = Guest Informant }}{{col-2}} Disc four{{track listing| headline = Session 12, 25 October 1988 | title1 = Deadbeat Descendant | title2 = Cab It Up | title3 = Squid Lord | title4 = Kurious Oranj }}{{track listing | headline = Session 13, 17 December 1989 | title5 = Chicago Now | title6 = Black Monk Theme | title7 = Hilary | title8 = Whizz Bang | note8 = this track was not broadcast }}{{track listing | headline = Session 14, 5 March 1991 | title9 = The War Against Intelligence | title10 = Idiot Joy Showland | title11 = A Lot of Wind | title12 = The Mixer }}{{track listing | headline = Session 15, 19 January 1992 | title13 = Free Range | title14 = Kimble | note14 = Lee "Scratch" Perry cover | title15 = Immortality | title16 = Return }} Disc five{{track listing| headline = Session 16, 28 February 1993 | title1 = Ladybird (Green Grass) | title2 = Strychnine | note2 = The Sonics cover | title3 = Service | title4 = Paranoia Man in Cheap Sh*t Room }}{{track listing | headline = Session 17, 2 December 1993 | title5 = M5 | title6 = Behind the Counter | title7 = Reckoning | title8 = Hey!
