It is the first entry in a series of albums, the second being The Detroit Experiment (2003) and the third being The Harlem Experiment (2007).[4] In 2002, King Britt released a remix album, titled The Philadelphia Experiment Remixed.[5] Critical receptionDavid R. Adler of AllMusic gave the album 4 stars out of 5, calling it "a textbook example of how jazz, soul, and hip-hop were becoming deeply intertwined at the outset of the new millennium."[2] Todd S. Jenkins of All About Jazz said, "Here, three tight homeboys have distilled the essence of the Philly legacy down into one insanely funky disc that commands repeat listenings."[1] Track listing{{Track listing| total_length = 52:43 | title1 = Philadelphia Experiment | length1 = 4:13 | title2 = Grover | length2 = 4:57 | title3 = Lesson #4 | length3 = 2:52 | title4 = Call for All Demons | length4 = 5:26 | title5 = Trouble Man Theme | length5 = 4:31 | title6 = Ain't It the Truth | length6 = 5:04 | title7 = IIe Ife | length7 = 6:10 | title8 = The Miles Hit | length8 = 5:45 | title9 = (Re)Moved | length9 = 2:07 | title10 = Philadelphia Freedom | length10 = 3:09 | title11 = Mister Magic / Just the Two of Us | length11 = 8:31 }} PersonnelCredits adapted from liner notes.
