}}Tom Ivers (1944–2005) was an equine physiologist and consultant who was a promoter of Interval Training primarily for Standardbreds, Quarter Horses and Thoroughbred racehorses. His book The Fit Racehorse was a radical change of approach to fitness training in horses. His later version, The Fit Racehorse II, benefits from years of practice and research and is a more extensive work.
