A total of 3 Type 072 are in service all of them are in service with the East Sea Fleet of the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN ESF). Yantai classThree Type 072 class landing ships were converted by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding to ammunition ships which entered service in 1992, and received NATO reporting name as the Yantai class. In comparison to the original Type 072 class landing ship, these Yantai class ammunition ships have shorter forecastles and, blunter bow-form, but lack bow-doors. Cranes are installed fore and aft, tending two holds forward of the bridge superstructure and one aft. Specification:[2] - Displacement (t): 3300
