This enzyme belongs to the family of oxidoreductases, specifically those acting on the CH-OH group of donor with NAD+ or NADP+ as acceptor. The systematic name of this enzyme class is UDP-N-acetyl-D-glucosamine:NAD+ 6-oxidoreductase.
