Uthman ibn Abu al-As ({{lang-ar|عُثْمَان ابْن أَبُو ٱلْعَاص|ʿUthmān ibn Abū al-ʿĀs}}) of the Arabian tribe of Banu Thaqif was in the beginning one of chieftains of the city of Ta'if, a Hejazi city which was initially hostile to the Islamic Nabi (Prophet) Muhammad. However in 631 or 632, he was included in a delegation that resulted in his tribe accepting Islam. He was chosen as the chief among the people in the delegation.[1][2]See alsoReferencess1. ^Witness-Pioneer] 2. ^Islaam.com
