}}Vadipatti is a panchayat town in the Madurai district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Population of the town is 21,833.[2]

Demographics

As of a 2001 Indian census,[3] Vadipatti had a population of 21,780. Males and females each constitute 50% of the population. Vadipatti has an average literacy rate of 68%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 77%, and female literacy is 61%. In Vadipatti, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age. There is a bifurcated river of Vaigai (aka Mullai Periyaru Irrigational Channel) runs south of this small township. Its paddy field and plantain field are source for the people who live around this place. There is a famous village near to this place called Kulasekaran Kottai, where Kulasekara Pandian Pandian of Pandya Dynasty had his palace and Meenakshi temple constructed here by him still exist. Ponnaiah malai also located in this town. This small town celebrates no. of festivals, including Bull fight during the month of October before Pongal festival. Near bus stand, the main village of L Pudur located. There is a falls near the town named "Kutladampatti Aruvi",Ramayanpatti and katchaikatti also notable place to visit. You can reach "Kutladampatti Aruvi" through semminipatti bus route.
