Sotto borders the following municipalities: Camporgiano, Careggine, Massa, Minucciano, Stazzema. The Lake of Vagli, created by a dam in 1947, and the abandoned village of Fabbriche di Careggina, are located nearby. The town contains the Romanesque church of San Regolo.
