It is the historical centre of Luxembourg City and is involved in its UNESCO World Heritage Site status.{{citation needed|date=June 2018}} {{As of|2017}}, Ville Haute had a population of 3,500, with just less than a third being of Luxembourgish nationality, and 57.2% being of other European Union (EU) nationalities.^[2]

Ville Haute is home to prestigious places, buildings and monuments such as Place Guillaume II, Place d'Armes, Notre-Dame Cathedral and Grand Ducal Palace.{{citation needed|date=June 2018}} The Gëlle Fra Monument of Remembrance war memorial is situated in Constitution Square.{{citation needed|date=June 2018}}
