The water flows into the lake Songsjøen and then into the lake Gagnåsvatnet. The lake is about {{convert|11|km}} south of the village of Krokstadøra and {{convert|15|km}} southeast of the village of Ytre Snillfjord, both in Snillfjord municipality, and {{convert|10|km}} west of the village of Gjølme in Orkdal municipality.
