The W60 is a defunct nuclear weapons system. It was designed to be the very small nuclear warhead of the United States Navy's long range Typhon LR surface-to-air missile.[1] Development started in 1959, and several fire safety issues delayed the XW-60's development. The Typhon itself ran into far more difficult development problems, especially in the size and weight of the acquisition and fire control radars and systems.
