It is the only high school in the Wadsworth City Schools district. The school colors are officially red and white. The school mascot is the grizzly bear, and the sports teams are nicknamed the Grizzlies. The current building opened in 2012. Replacing the older building, which was added to, renovated, and expanded multiple times through the last half of the 20th century and early 21st. This building was originally opened in 1959. Wadsworth high school is consistently ranked as one of the state and nation's best high schools by the Ohio department of education, U.S. News & World Report, and other sources.
