It was released in 1989 through Priority Records, and it was produced entirely by DJ Aladdin. The album peaked at number 66 on the US Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. The album spawned two singles: "Pay Ya Dues",[1] which peaked at #8 on the Hot Rap Songs,[2] and "Funky Song",[3] which peaked at #87 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.[4] Music videos for both of the singles were directed by actor and director Jon Gries,[5] and featured cameo appearances by Coolio and Crazy Toones, in addition to a cameo appearance by Ice-T in "Pay Ya Dues".
