Whittlesea railway station is on the Ely–Peterborough line in the east of England and serves the town of Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire. "Whittlesea" is an older spelling of the town's name.{{Citation needed|date=September 2009}}

It is {{convert|94|mi|60|chain|km}} measured from London Liverpool Street via {{rws|Ely}} and is situated between {{rws|March}} and {{rws|Peterborough}} stations.

All the original station buildings have long been demolished, and only the two platforms remain. Unlike most level crossings, the gates at the Whittlesea crossing are not automatic and are still opened and closed by hand by a member of railway staff based in a small adjacent building.

In 1968 the Flying Scotsman visited the station to have its tender refilled with water.

Services

Greater Anglia operates one train every two hours between Ipswich and Peterborough.

CrossCountry operates three trains per day Monday-Saturday between Birmingham and Cambridge, of which two are extended beyond Cambridge to {{rws|Stansted Airport}}.

East Midlands Trains operates a service to Liverpool Lime Street Monday-Saturday only.^[1]
